Building the tools to deliver effective, evidence-based conservation.
Conservation Evidence, an initiative launched and hosted by the University of Cambridge, makes evidence of effective nature conservation easily and publicly available. To date, its team has reviewed and summarised more than 8,000 studies on the effectiveness of specific conservation actions for different groups of species and habitats. The database of conservation evidence is freely available to anyone wanting to find out what kinds of interventions have or haven’t worked in the past. More than a million users have already accessed this valuable online information source.
Now Cartier for Nature is supporting Conservation Evidence in its work to grow this unique resource to include reviews of the evidence for conservation actions across all habitats and species groups, and in engaging with practitioners, policy makers, funders and others to co-design tools and processes to ensure the evidence is embedded in practice.
